Church With Strong Outing Propels St. Lucie To A 3-2 Win

Andrew Church Pitched 7 2/3 strong innings and Austin McGeorge picked up the save as St. Lucie defeats the Florida Fire Frogs 3-2 tonight.

St Lucie scored two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth for a 3-0 St. Lucie lead. The Fire Frogs added 2 in the eight to make it close at the end

Tebow went 0-2 with a run scored, walk and hit by pitch.

Tebow’s first at bat in the 2nd was a sharp groundout to first.

With runners on first and third with one out in the 4th, Tebow hits into a forceout, beating out a relay throw to first, advancing Jhoan Urena to third. After a Michael Paez walk advanced Tebow to second base the runners were left stranded.

The 6th inning Tebow led off the inning and was hit by a pitch. Two batters later Mazeika grounds into a forceout and Tebow advances to second. J.C. Rodriquez then bangs a triple to drive in Tebow from 2nd.

Tebow’s final at bat was a walk on 4 pitches. He then is forced out at second.

Tebow had two of the last three putouts in the ninth inning to help seal the win for St. Lucie.

The Mets are back home against the Marauders tomorrow night with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 Eastern at First Data Field.
