Tebow Shines in PSL Mets Debut

In today’s doubleheader with the Palm Beach Cardinals, Tim Tebow hit a home run, two singles and a walk in his debut with the Port St. Lucie Mets today at First Data Field.

In the first game, Tebow struck out in his first at bat, then found his footing as he hit a single on his second at bat and a walk at his third at bat, going 1-2 in his first game.

Tebow’s second game started off with a bang,  hitting a home run to center field off the Cardinals #10 prospect Junior Fernandez.  According to some estimates the ball traveled 400 feet.  That scored former Columbia Fireflies teammate Michael Paez for a two run home run.  He hit a single his next at bat and got stranded on base.  He finished the day with an infield ground out.  He finished the game 2-3 with a homer and 2 RBI’s.

It’s a great start for Tebow as he begins his time with the PSL Mets with a .600 batting average and an OPS of 1.867.

Tebow now has 4 professional home runs in his career, eclipsing Michael Jordan’s career total of 3 home runs.
